This cuff blood pressure monitor was selected best in tests conducted by the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute for its accuracy, and is the first and only monitor cleared by the Food And Drug Administration that detects morning hypertension, a leading cause of "silent strokes". It uses the oscillometric method of blood pressure measurement, clinically proven to provide accurate readings for hypertension and arrhythmia, and takes three consecutive measurements separated by one-minute intervals, providing an average. This model's systolic and diastolic readings were compared to readings taken by a registered nurse; the results showed that this model came within 1.25% of one of the nurse's readings. It has large, easy-to-read LED numbers and stores 100 readings each for two people, more than twice the capacity of competing models. Its comfortable cuff adjusts from 9" to 17" in circumference. Includes four AA batteries that provide up to 500 measurements.
